Recent Transformations

Blown-In Fiberglass Over Patchy 1990s Batts in Wedgwood

Before and after photos coming soon: attic insulation replacement, Wedgwood

The original fiberglass batts had settled to roughly R-11 across half the attic, leaving the west-facing bedrooms noticeably warmer every afternoon. We removed the compressed batts, air-sealed the top plates and can light housings, then blew Owens Corning AttiCat fiberglass to R-38 across the full attic floor. The homeowner checked the upstairs thermostat the following week and found the two rooms that used to run six degrees hot were finally holding the same setpoint as the rest of the house.

Spray Foam in a 1910s Fairmount Pier-and-Beam Attic

Before and after photos coming soon: open-cell spray foam roofline, Fairmount

Older Fairmount attics sit directly under steep rooflines with no knee wall to speak of, which means the second floor bakes from June through September. We applied Icynene open-cell spray foam to the underside of the roof deck, turning the attic into a conditioned space that no longer radiated heat into the bedrooms below. The homeowner’s upstairs window unit stopped cycling at 2 a.m., and the house finally kept a stable indoor humidity without running a dehumidifier in the hallway.

Rodent-Damaged Insulation Removal in North Richland Hills

Before and after photos coming soon: insulation removal and sanitation, North Richland Hills

We found matted, urine-saturated fiberglass spread across a North Richland Hills attic after the homeowner noticed an ammonia smell drifting down through the bathroom vent. The old insulation had to come out entirely, along with the droppings and nesting material underneath. Once the attic was cleared and sanitized, we blew in fresh Knauf fiberglass at R-38 and the smell disappeared inside a day. That kind of job is why we always photo-document the before state: you need to know what was actually under there.

Attic Air Sealing and Rockwool Upgrade Near TCU

Before and after photos coming soon: air sealing plus Rockwool, TCU area

The attic above this 1980s ranch had decent insulation depth but zero air sealing, so stack effect kept pulling conditioned air out through every light fixture and wire penetration. We pulled back the old material where needed, sealed the gaps with can foam, then covered everything with Rockwool Comfortbatt and loose-fill. The homeowner’s spring allergy symptoms improved noticeably within a week, likely because airborne dust from the attic stopped circulating down into the living room.

Garage Ceiling Deconstructed and Rebuilt in Saginaw

Before and after photos coming soon: garage ceiling insulation, Saginaw

A home gym in a Saginaw garage was unusable in July without a portable AC and two box fans. The original builders had never insulated the garage ceiling at all. We cut back the drywall around the perimeter, filled the joist bays with CertainTeed fiberglass batts, and reinstalled the ceiling with a fresh vapor barrier. The garage now stays about fifteen degrees cooler on a hundred-degree afternoon, which makes a portable cooling unit actually effective.

Flat-Roof Attic Flood Recovery in Ridglea Hills

Before and after photos coming soon: wet insulation removal and replacement, Ridglea Hills

A storm-cell deluge in May had worked water through a failing flat-roof seam and soaked the insulation across a Ridglea Hills attic. We removed every damp batt, checked the roof deck for mold, ran a high-volume fan for two days, then reinstalled Demilec closed-cell foam against the newly patched deck. The homeowner appreciated that we wrote the scope before pulling anything out, so there was no mid-job surprise on what had to be hauled away.
